In the summer of 2024, the school district of Menomonee Falls, WI (which borders Milwaukee) removed the board book Love Makes a Family for showing inclusive images of families. One parent complaint related to so-called "alternative" lifestyles and families prompted the removal. 
Grassroots Menomonee Falls then organized a free book drive, so that any family who wanted a copy could have one. Azora Books happily supplied the books and helped with fundrasising effort.
