Ready for a charming story? The story of Azora Books starts with an adorable baby! Amanda spent years in the adoption process and then one day the phone call came. A birthmother wanted to meet and the baby was due in just three weeks! One month later, baby Micah was home basking in the love of his village. 

 

The quick timeline of the adoption meant that all the fees were due at once. As the legal fees continued to grow, Amanda looked on her shelves for books to sell. The leap from adoption fundraiser to viable business happened in spring of 2020, just as the world was coming to terms with a global pandemic. In those early days, Azora Books was operating out of Amanda's garage and little Micah was an eager assistant.

Amanda's professional background as a teacher meant that she spent years searching for affordable books in hopes of increasing access for all of her students. ​ The vision of Azora Books emerged from Micah's adoption story and Amanda's classroom experience: high quality, affordable books for every family and every classroom. 

 

In the years after launching Azora Books, operations continue to expand with thousands of books individually listed and new titles arriving daily. The story of Azora Books is only just beginning--thanks for being part of the next chapter!
